What is infrared touch technology?

Infrared touch technology detects interactions by creating a dense, uniform grid of LED lights and sensors that are invisible to the naked eye. These lights and sensors are embedded in the bezel of the touch frame itself and are constantly working so that whenever the user touches the screen, an interference is recorded, identifying the point of contact on the display. 

The advantage of infrared technology is that the user doesn't actually have to touch the screen itself, as the touch is recorded by disrupting the pattern of light without having to be physically connected to the screen.
